Fun Facts

There have been many questions asked about Pho Home by our customers and would like to answer some of them so our customers can get to know us better.

When did Pho Home open?
We opened on October 10th 2020. Yes, in the middle of the pandemic.
We wanted to bring food similar that made at home hence the name Pho Home.
We can say quality, affordability, ect, but in the end, it all comes down to the fact that we enjoy serving good food to our customers above all else. Because we enjoy serving good food, we always try our best to make the food good.
Many have asked for many traditional Viet dishes to be added to the menu as many other restaurants carries hundreds of items on their menu. We chose not to have hundreds of items because we find it very difficult to focus on making 200 dishes up to our standards with the size of kitchen we have. We want to focus on smaller menu so that each dish is continuously refined. We don’t want to have all the dishes and half of them are just not good.
We understand that MSG when using in the right amount will make food taste better. However, we have noticed that people have become dependent on MSG alone to make food taste good, meaning instead of trying to find the right balance and bringing out the flavors, many just throw lots of msg in. Alot of people are actually allergic to msg and consuming our customers to come in, eat, and leave without having to worry about any side effects so we find ways to cook good food without using msg.
The short answer is yes. The long answer is this: when you go to Vietnam and eat a dish, let’s say Pho, it will be different from one store to the next store on the same street. That same Pho dish will be different in every region, the north may like it saltier and less veggies, while in the south may like it more sweet and more veggies. Every chef has his/her own way of cooking and the chef cannot cook it to everybody’s taste. Our food is authentic as being Vietnamese’s cuisine and not authentic to everyone’s knowledge of how each dish is supposed to be authentic.
